Visitors this season already have enjoyed very varied experiences -
Many thanks for your hospitality. The accommodation was very clean and modern.
The stables were great for our two, light airy and clean. Loved the bedding and so did the horses. It was nice to have the chance to try out an outdoor school with them both. The ride out in the forestry was really good and the scenery and our guide (Sue) were really worth the ride out. Sue was very knowledgable and very easy to get on with.
We will definitely be back soon
and
Thank you for a lovely holiday. We had a good journey home. It now seems very boring after all the excitement. I think Elizabeth (my horse) is waiting for the next adventure.Thank you both, once again

BHS LIVERY YARD APPROVAL FOR 'UNIQUE' RIDING HOLIDAY CENTRE AT CUMBRIAN HOOFBEATS
(December 2005)
Cumbrian Hoofbeats, one of Cumbria’s newest riding holiday destinations, has become the first BHS Approved Livery Yard exclusively for horses and ponies accompanying their owners on a riding holiday.
Run by experienced, resident owners Pam Harrison and Peter Bulman on their small hill livestock farm, Howard House, in North East Cumbria close to Hadrian’s Wall, the 6-box yard offers idyllic, modern barn stabling, well managed turnout and full livery.
For the humans there’s farmhouse B&B in The Hayloft Suite for up to four family members or friends and groups of up to seven can enjoy four-bedroomed self-catering in Newlands Farmhouse just 200 yards away.
“We’ve put a lot of time and energy into creating really unique holidays for riders with their own horses”, said Pam, “and being a BHS Approved Livery Yard is important to us, as it will give anyone thinking of enjoying a break with us confidence that both our facilities and the standard of care we provide are excellent.
“Our holidays offer a wide variety of activities, including training, competitions, hacking - even a fabulous beach ride and we’re happy to arrange individual programmes depending on what our guests want to enjoy.”
With lots to see and do in this unspoilt corner of ‘undiscovered Cumbria’ and easy access from the major road networks, Cumbrian Hoofbeats offers a new kind of riding holiday and Pam confirms, “Bringing your horse on holiday with you is still a relatively new idea for a lot of people, but it’s becoming more popular and we hope that our BHS Approved Livery Yard status will give more riders the confidence to try a really rewarding way to enjoy the company of their horses.”
