Cumbria is a great place for a riding holiday - and the least spoilt parts of it are even better if you bring your own horse or pony to share the fun.....
Staying with Cumbrian Hoofbeats, on a small hill farm in NE Cumbria, between the market towns of Longtown and Brampton, you'll find all the peace and tranquility that you've ever heard can be possible in one of England's most beautiful counties, away from the wall-to-wall crowds of the Lake District, yet within easy driving distance if you choose to spend a day there. The best part is that we're really easily accessible by good roads, so bringing your horse should not be any problem.
We're closely in touch with the equestrian scene in our region and we know what's going on where and when. We can arrange whatever you want to do with your horse and we don't restrict your options at all! You can ask us to arrange whatever you would like to enjoy with your horse and we'll make it happen. If you have a riding goal, we'll help you achieve it or it you simply want to have your horse with you whilst you enjoy a total break, without any riding, we'll do the work and you can enjoy whatever you want. Your horse will just be yards away from your accommodation and you can check on him or her as often as you like.
Cumbria has a number of active competition centres, riding clubs and pony clubs - to check out what's on at the most active venue in our area, Blackdyke Farm, click on Blackdyke Farm What's On and decide what you would like to enjoy whilst you are on holiday at Cumbrian Hoofbeats. We can arrange affiliated or unaffilited competition entries if you ask us when you book. Take a look at the varied Hacking Opportunities, from quiet roadwork to an exhilirating beach ride.
If you're a Riding Club or Pony Club member, Email us and we'll put you in touch with the local branches, so that you can find out what's on for members whilst you're here.
Our very well qualified instructors really know their stuff - been there, done it, got the T-shirt, starred in the video and all that - but seriously though, they all want to help and will really work with you to achieve significant improvement. On the other hand, if you'd prefer a day partly of intense training, mixed up with a lot of fun, we and they willl arrrange that too, so both you and your horse will have a great time. Check out who's who by clicking on Training and decide what you'd like to enjoy. You can confirm what you'd like to achieve when you book.
Remember that your horse is on full livery during your stay, so there's no mucking out, feeding, turning out, brushing off, changing rugs.............. therefore you can enjoy your time out of the saddle too. Click on The People Scene to find out what you can look forward to in our really unspoilt and tranquil part of rural NE Cumbria.
On a practical note, our yard is modern, our grazing is clean and safe, stable management standards are high - and just look at our logo to appreciate the fabulous view! Cumbrian Hoofbeats is a British Horse Society Approved Livery Yard, so you can be sure that your horse will be well cared for, well fed and enjoy the holiday as much as you do. Click onto Stabling & Turnout to find out what our full livery includes. Should your horse need a farrier or a vet, we can easily call either. We have horses ourselves and both our vets and farriers are expert - we trust them implicitly.
If you want to receive more information about the Equestrian Scene in our region, Email us with your full postal address and we'll add you to the mailing list for the free monthly magazine Farm 'n' Equine, which lists competitions and other equestrian fixtures - or click onto Competitions for more ideas about what you could enjoy during your riding holiday.. We can also provide information about local saddlers and tack shops if a bit of an equestrian shopping spree is on your agenda - just ask us.
